The video oral vacuum activity shows a close up of the mouth and the hands of a woman, who obsessively bites on her nails, which are already bleeding. In her work, Anna Baranowski uses the image of a pretty woman biting obsessively on her nails as a symbol of stress, the pressure to perform and excessive demands in our contemporary society, especially focusing on the pressure to stand the established ideal of beauty. Embedded in ordinary advertisement in public space the work causes irritation and questions to which extent the pressure to be beautiful produced by advertisement itself manipulates our personal interaction every day.
